Do NOT buy 'The Show Must Go On' by Rik 'ugly boy' Sky. That was pure crap. Half of the book spelt Freddie with and 'ie' and the other half with a 'y' and it was quite obviosly full of tabloid crap from the authors time at the Daily Star, it was a painful read!! Buy 'As It Began'.

Peter Freestone's is the best one. Just my opinion!
It had a lot of remembrances and fond memories from Peter's first encounter with Freddie through the final phases after Freddie's death. The pictures in the book are candid shots of Freddie with friends and lovers, and he was so photogenic it looks like he posed for each and every one! I've never seen a "bad" picture of Freddie, not counting the ones near the end of his life. Those were really painful to see and acknowledge the fact that Freddie wouldn't be alive much longer. That thought hurt the worst!

After reading your comments on Rick Sky's book, I am very surprised you DO like this book? Talking about back chat, hear say, sensation, etc. etc.
I do not like Hutton's book, because I really don't know what exactly to believe, it is all like one huge gossip story and because Freddie wanted to keep his personal life private, Jim should have respected that.
I like As it Began too, nice book.
But I'd say, buy whatever you like and make up your own mind :)

I bought and read "Freddie Mercury:The Definitive Biography" by Leslie-Ann Jones. I think it's a terrific book-lots of info and great pics(mostly of Freddie's early days). I don't care for anything Jim H. has to say. I only listen to Mary and Phoebe,darlings
