I'm not interested in most DVD's that don't have an official Queen connection; "We Will Rock You" 2001 is an exception.[/QUOTE]
uhh actually the DVD's on CD japan are officially Queen liscensed...they were just strictly limited to Japanese release?
and lisa, what were the bonus features for the first editions? I missed 'em cause I didn't have the money in time...
I bought the Made In Heaven sunrise mini-LP...these releases are highly reccomended...dammit i wish I had the cash to buy them ALL!

There's been nothing special added to any Queen first pressing from there. That's just something cdjapan mentions as an incentive to pre-order stuff, not necessarily Queen.
And you made an excellent choice to start your card sleeves off :) MIH is a gatefold and has poster inserts (the same b&w pics that were in the CD booklet). It's beautiful.

excellent indeed

"and lisa, what were the bonus features for the first editions? I missed 'em cause I didn't have the money in time...:
(If you call this a bonus): on Jewels, the Slightly Mad video. The best version I've seen to date.
Final Live: none (odd!)
Karaoke Hits: four extras: TATDOOL, Heaven For Everyone, A Winter's Tale and I Was Born To Love You 2004. Low stock on this one!!
Also of interest (I think Brian May made an appearance??):
Red Hot Chili Peppers: LIVE IN HYDE PARK
Red Hot Chili Peppers' first official live album. Recorded live on June 19, 20, & 25, 2004. Released exclusively in Europe and Japan.
(This is a CD, BTW)
Angel, good on you for ordering the Karaoke Hits!!

One of these days, when I get a new job, I will go and buy some of the cardboard CD re-releases.

Just to clarify, though you annoy the hell out of me, the bonuses you mentioned are not exclusive to the first editions. They are part of the discs anyway. And Karaoke isn't releasing on the 20th.. it comes out the 14th (which is today in Japan).

DeaconFan's right. Usually, DVD's are the same either way, they just like to make sales with special limited editions, which usually come with something special (not necessarily a feature on the DVD(s) itself), or they just like to make a limited edition because people will know that it will be a while before a regular (and cheaper?) edition comes out. Even then, the regular editions are only produced up to a certain amount, and usually after 3 years begin to diminish in quantity because production has stopped some time prior to that...blah
I could be wrong :P
And DF's right about the release date. CDJapan lists it as coming out today.

Aiyiyi. Sorry if I'm annoying you, AOTM, but this is what I really meant (courtesy of CD Japan):
First Pressing Editions
Bonus extras are sometimes included with the first press (initial press) editions. Whenever the details for the bonus extra is available, it is indicated in the product details. Usually, first presses are limited in quantity. After they are sold out, only the later regular pressing without bonus extras are available for ordering. They are occasionally sold out in the pre-ordering stage.
Whenever the first press is available for ordering, "First Press Available" button is indicated in the product details. However, if your payment method is either International Postal Money Order, or Cash Sent via Registered Mail, it is possible for the first press edition to be no longer available by the time your order is processed. For International Postal Money Order, or Cash sent via Registered Air Mail, we do not process the order until the payment has arrived. Similarly, we do not process credit card orders until we have obtained authorization from credit card company.
All of mine are these -- and I hope this clarifies the difference between a "bonus track" and "first pressing edition". My bad -- sorry!

Yeah, I bought Tori Amos' Scarlet's Walk album and it was a limited edition. Basically came in a nice cardboard pack with some freebies, including a poster, toys! and a dvd. However, once it was gone, it became a basic cd in a cardboard case. Same case as before, mind.
It's quite a common thing to see these days.
Peace,
Adam.

The statement of CD Japan is right. However, it USALLY means that you get some kind of promotional stuff (e.g: a poster, a cardboard slipcase, an extra obi strip, etc.) with the first pressings - not bonus tracks! Bonus tracks are not uncommon in Japan, as to promote sales of the local releases instead of the cheaper imports (that is as weird as true: Japan issues are expensive even for the Japanese!)
I want to make clear that the bonus tracks on the new DVDs and CDs will stay on the subsequent pressings (if any).
By the way, some of the first pressings of the new LP-style cardboards have extra obis imitating the original Japanese LP ones.

A friend of mine got the Aerosmith ones and they're included! (Nice touch!)
