Think about it, it could be true!
Maybe they have invented ways to go back in time in 2035, we won't know it for 31 years. So for what we know it could'be been the truth.

And another thing...how can he predict a Civil War..shouldn't he know for certain if he's from 32 years in to the future? Think about it.

I wonder if the boxsets have been released yet in 2036.

Even if time travel is possible, how can anyone travel back before there is a machine to recieve him or her?
According to one book I've read time travel IS pssible but not in the sense TV and movies portray it, but in the way Brian ortrays it in "'39"
But hey, I could be wrong. One question: If he was stuck why didn't he just send himself to come and pick himself home once he got home and avoid all of this?

'39 is about relativistic effects, not time travel. It could be seen as time travel to the future, I guess, but since we're all already time traveling into the future, that isn't too impressive.

Anyway, if he said there would be a civil war, wouldn't telling us about it possibly change that? The answer...is no. Because he's not really from the future. Obviously.
