What happened to Mountain Studios?

Hi does anyone know why Mountain Studios isn't open for business anymore. I've heard all that's left is a doorway.

It now exists only in poor David Richards' living room :(

It sounds like he's still working though. He mentions working on the 466664 project.. perhaps he did the overdubs you're all so fond of, or maybe he worked on the studio album.

Last year my friends and i started a patition when dave mentioned on queenonline that mountain studios was in danger of completely being lost to the casino. looks like it didnt help much! id have thought somebody (brian knew about it) might have bought it for the memories.

I thought that the studios were going to be preserved inside the casino as a tourist attraction, I think I read that somewhere before. Id love to go there, In fact, I might go to Montreux next year.

During the BBC3 Millions programme, they were stood outside the doorway and said that this is all that exists of Mountain Studios. Looks like it's gone.

David Richards Productions who owned the lease has just foregone the lease, thus effectively letting the studio do with Queen anymore

From what I know the studio was to be closed. But it surely isn't, it must be working in some way as 46664 The Event was mixed and mastered just there by David Richards with help of Josh Macrae (by mixing). Maybe then the studio doesn't exist in a way id did before, but somehow it has to exist though.
