I posted this long ago, after sharing the karaokes for the first time.. I believe someone requested it at that time.
I made this using the 'vocal cut' tool in Sound Forge (this is also in other wave editors, or you can do it manually by selecting one channel, inverting it, and mixing the two channels to mono). Then I edited back in some things like the guitar solo because vocal cut removed that also :)
I listened to this again the other day and realized I'd done a pretty good job so I wanted to share it again.
It's just for fun and something to share trying out this new linking system through freecache.org (thanks to sully for finding this!) which should reduce bandwidth. If for some reason the link doesn't work this way, you may remove the first part, but if it is working, please stick with it even if it's a little slow.
This works by sending the file from another server's cache rather than always directly from mine, so I reduce the risk of being bitched at by my ISP :)

I used version 6 but I now have the new Sony version 7 too and it still has that. It's under Process > Channel converter > Vocal cut. There are adjustments but I've never messed with them.. I usually just try it with the defaults and if it doesn't sound good I don't bother.
It all depends on how the track was mixed, what instruments it has.. sometimes it doesn't take the vocal out, sometimes it takes bass and drums too.. you never know until you try one. This one just happened to work good except the guitar solo so I edited that back in from the original.

These mixes are amazing. Great job! I love how you can just slightly hear Freddie's vocals.
Hmmm. I wonder if we could remove "Five" and Robbie Williams from those respective tracks!!!!!

Seriously though, sounds like it might work. I can barely hear Robbie. Unfortunately I only have an MP3 and it gets very swishy and bad quality when I try that.

I think you MIGHT achieve far better results by using Adobe Audition 1.5's 'Center Channel Extractor'. I've used it for minor 5.1 projects.
It basicly does everything and more
