I'm thinking of getting this, but I'm not sure if it's worth $50. Does anybody have this and like it? I thought it would be a good investment, since instrumentals always help me write.
Resistance is futile. You are now an orb.
Would probably come in handy if you ran a karaoke business, but for home use, its a little steep.
Chom own mudder fukker.
I haven't read much info on it, so I'm probably going to sound uninformed, but does it play on regular CD players? I'm going to see what I can find...

I've got the old 1998 release, paid about $50 back then and I think it's totally worth it. Very nice to hear the instrumentals of those tracks we've heard a million times. Too bad Innuendo and Killer Queen weren't included - now thóse would be really interesting to hear IMO!
I know how you feel but I splashed out on it. Cost me £28!!!

The sound is stunning. I had a VHS copy of it from the laserdisc for a few years and thought that was good, but the clarity of the DVD is awesome.
The only downsides are the burnt in text on the videos, some of the earlier tracks fade out a few seconds too soon (but I understand the CD version is perfect) and the backing vocals have been left on (still).

If you can afford it, buy either the DVD or the CD. You won't be disappointed. You'll hear arrangements that are normally drowned out by the lead vocals. I'd be happy if instrumental versions of ALL Queen songs were available!!!
And the only downside of the new CD version of GKH is that it's copy protected, so it's really not able to be copied because it's "damaged", as DF would say
If you want to have the new I Was Born To Love You video, then you should buy the DVD. I myself prefer the cd's because then you can really listen to the music, which is in a number of tracks really fascinating.

And indeed I was looking for Killer Queen, but that one is not included.

i bought this karaoke cd off of ebay a couple of years ago thinking it would be original queen background instrumentals....BUT it was the most cheesiest thing i ever heard in my life...with these horrible singers singing the choruses of the songs...i found myself embarrassed to listen to it...i believe it's collecting dust in my closet or something
YouNearlyDidMeIn -> the Greatest Karaoke Hits cd consists of the original backingtapes. You probably have some cheap midi-karaoke cd.

Thanks for the help, I'm going to get the CD as soon as I get my paycheck tomorrow!

Great, thank you! I was just about to get it for $47 on Ebay, but that website's cheaper.
