Probably, but how does anyone know what Lennon would have wanted? In fact, it's probably true, Lennon was big on turn-the-other-cheek, but it's not as though we can ask him.

As for Lennon, I don't know what he would have wanted. Though he was turn the other cheek, he also did have the ability to hold a grudge. A big grudge. Look at him and McCartney! :) Imagine (no do not start singing) what he'd have said here... But unfortunately we cannot know what he'd have said. ATM it's more of a public safety thing...
