When new friends go into my basement for the first time, the less tactful ones often run screaming out the door. I have what you might call a rather odd taste in domestic animals.

To assure me that I am not, in fact, a raving space loon and that it is perfectly normal to keep such creatures in the house, what are the most interesting pets you dear folks own.

My basement menagerie currently houses:

-Magnus, a full-grown ball python
-Nataku, Setsuka, and Saiki, three tarantulas
-One nameless albino frog that has not done anything remotely interesting for several weeks

The pond in the backyard houses:

-Several koi carp
-Several turtles and frogs
-One very vicious queen snake named something. I forgot which sci-fi character I named it after.

John's locked in my basement since late 1996. That might scare some people at first. When they're used to him they usually pet him and grow to really like his company.

I am very unique. I have a dog, and Bingo is his name-o.

I have a dog, a cat, a goldfish and a tarantula.
There must be more to life than this.

We should have a contest to name geeks' frog.

I vote for Reggie. Even if it's a ladyfrog.
FLASHMAN STRIKES AGAIN! Paul Rodgers is not the best thing since fried Fred.

I have lots of pets, but nothing terribly bizarre. I guess the most unusual are my two chinchillas, Kahlua and ChiChi.

*edit* Reggie the frog does have a nice ring to it.
-If you want the best seat in the house, you have to move the cat.

How about "Cracker"? or "Whiteboy"?

Mandy, thank God that you're not my sister, or I'd have to run away and live in a crappy ghetto apartment.

I hate spiders and I could never possibly live under the same roof with a tarantula. Regardless of whether it's in a locked in a cage or loose.

My brother once a scorpian and he had two tarantulas. I am allergic to spiders, so I very well could have died if his tarantulas had bitten me.

I also have a boyfriend named Chris. ;^)

Hmmm.... I think that everyone is allergic to spiders babe. It's called VENOM! LOL :P I want to have a monkey at some time when I have a real job and real money!
U
You never said anything to me about a monkey...

Everyone could be allergic, but I think I am exceptional when it comes to bug bites cos I swell up like a balloon. :p

PUFFY!!!!

Flashy, as I am not entirely sure that my albino frog was ever alive, because I don't think it's moved more than about an inch since I bought it, I'm not so sure it needs a name. however, why not? I probably should think of something more flattering to call it than You Stupid Animal, Why Don't You Move.

My spiders aren't poisonous and they don't bite. They're very nice spiders. One is sitting on my shoulder right now. Say hi to the Queenzoners, whichever spider you are, I can't tell the difference. And get outta my shirt, you miserable creature.

Nobody else has reptiles? :( I feel so weird.

Puffy is right! lol!!

You just think you are more allergic because your so small that a normal sized bug bite looks like a tumor! LOL

And a monkey would be cool... I was waitin till we were married to spring that one on you so you couldnt get rid of me... lol
