I was just curious if anyone had a specific album they would recommend as a first for someone who's only heard Queen music through a tape of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and only the songs 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Love of My Life', and 'We are the Champions', at that.
I've been semi-introduced to Queen through a friend, but have never been able to really listen to any of the music...

A Night At The Opera is a great place to start, especially if you already like Bohemian Rhapsody and Love Of My Life. It's got a lot of versatility on there, as well as some of their more noticeable hits.
G'day.
I'd try Jazz, News of the World, A Day at the Races and Innuendo.
That's my suggestion any way.
Rock on!

Definitely 'A Day At The Races' and 'A Night At The Opera', although starting with 'Greatest Hits' is a good idea as well.
ADATR is one of those perfectly executed albums. Right up there with some of the beatle's finest.
Option 1:Queen Greatest Hits (1) 1981
Option 2: Sheer Heart Attack 1974 ,versatile, really varied musically (pop, hard, heavy..), good arrangements, good melodies, a great album

Try with Greatest Hits I (1980), Greatest Hits II (1991) and Greatest Hits III (2000), though the latter has also some crap songs in it (Another One Bites The Dust + Wyclef Jean).
But my opinion would be to start with A Night At The Opera (1975), it was the album that conquered my heart and I don't think I could have fallen so desperately in love with any other album by then. Anyway, if you like BoRhap and Love Of My Life, this is the right album for you.
Next, you could listen to Jazz (1978), Sheer Heart Attack (1974)... and the rest.

Queen II!!!!
Thanks to everyone who suggested an album for me - I will be 'going shopping' this weekend, and appreciate all of the help!
u just asked the wrong question since almost all the queen songs rock but plz not Q greatest hits III they hardly have any org Queen stuff
I would reconmend Greatest Hits 1-3 so you can get a good taste of the variaty of QUEEN songs through the years. After that just randomly picked QUEEN cd's to buy.
I'd go for A Day at the Races
