Tuesday I have to get a root canal ( is that how you spell it?), because my tooth is rotten down into my nerves, in my gums. The dentist says it won't hurt, but I don't know if it does. Any way , has anybody here had a root canal done? Does it hurt?

I think Bob the shrek (or it may have been Barry UK) apparently its agony...
root canal surgery at aged 13? is that a record?

You'll scream like a banshee - and that's just the injection to numb your gum.
You think I have a good chance of escaping out the dentist office window?
Yep... I was sure it was you Bob...
its tragic that a teenager like Breanna can have rotten teeth.
Trouble is, here in the UK finding an NHS dentist who will treat you is pretty damn impossible. All the dentists are going private = more money!

I had to phone 21 dentists to get treatment and in the end had to travel 30 miles and go private!

No. Unless.....No.
I think Ill be absent from the dentist. I'm to young to die at 13! I know so many people who don't hate me!!
Trust me, you leave a root canal untreated and an abcess forms, you will wish you were dead!
The injection will hurt a bit but the rest should be okay. You certainly can't leave it!

Yeah, but pain and I don't get along at all.
I had root canal 9 years ago, a dead tooth removed and a gold crown fitted - fortunately it was a routine check-up and not unmitigated agony that got me there, but it cost me two hours in the dentist's chair and the best part of £200. I still hate the anaesthetic injection the most, but having that dead tooth taken out reminded me of someone jacking a car up and was unpleasant at best :(
Now my dentist uses anaesthetic on cotton wool to numb the outside of the gum so you don't feel the needle going in :)

Oh my god!!! Two hours I'm gonna die , dead is so curel!
I used to have good luck with dental work. Had lots of painless extractions and one root canal. It wasn't nearly as bad as it sounds.
It all depends on the dentist. I've had a couple of real assholes in more recent years who didn't know what the fuck they were doing.
Good luck.

Actually if you ever have the chance (or the money) to use an oral surgeon instead, that's the way to go. I had to go to one after one of these fuckhead dentists tried to do something beyond his already non-existent abilities and fucked up big time.
Anyway, the oral surgeon was so quick and painless I couldn't believe the difference.
