For you newbies when the original version of State Of Shock was recorded with MJ and Freddie
It wasn't released because Jackson caught Freddie snorting coke.
It has remained unreleased ever since.

Be nice to the Americans and don't bite. Erg.
Not somethig I really care about, but I've learned from a quick research in the internet that there are different point of views as to America being a single continent or two continents: South and North-America.-
Yes, well, if you buy that ('cuz it was on the internet), then you might also buy the suggestion that North America and Eur/Asia are the same continent. Scientists (who???) generally feel that they WERE connected, and still are to some degree (under the water, by bits of Alaska). Does that make them, therefore, the same continent? Naah.
Well, even moreso, aren't they all connected below the water? So does that make them ALL just one continent? If Queenzone teaches you anything, it ought to be this: not everything you read on the internet is written by a sane, intelligent individual, nor can it be assumed that anything is based on these pesky little things called "facts". In "fact", if you ask me, I'd opine that most of it is written by psycho-wacko-loser-nerds... but that's another topic entirely!!!
What I don't like to see is people refer to America as the USA. I am so proud to be American, being born in Brazil. I don't want my title of "American" to be ripped off by a single country. There are many countries in America, not just the "Big Brother of the North" or whatever. No matter how big and powerful it is these days. :)
Cheers,
Ogre-
As a resident of the USA who likes to think of himself as more world-conscious than most of my countrymen, I FULLY AGREE. And for people to refer to the USA as America (which is done in Europe quite commonly) is really selling the 2 continents short. It is an unfortunate by-product of ethnocentrism and narcissism that causes us (USA residents) to do that. I was taught that way of speaking in gradeschool, but have tried my best to "un-learn" it over the years.
p.s. not all of us are so very happy being so "powerful"... vote Kerry! PLEASE!!!
Double-cheers!
GUMP
Isn't it a contraction of the full title..United States Of AMERICA?
In the same way that USARIANS (Since you can't be Americans as that's too general) refer to the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Northern Ireland as "England"...

Exactly PG.
Some of our 'American' friends are getting their knickers in an unneccesary twist.
Continentally and geographically, North, South, and Central America can be, and are, called The Americas.
But 99% of the time if somebody is talking about an American, they are referring to somebody from the USA. That is what the term American has come to mean, due to the contraction PG mentions.
Technically if you're Brazilian you come from the South American continent, and I suppose you could argue that technically you're an American, but semantically you are not.
But I bet you couldn't find one single person from the Falkland Islands who would ever class themselves as being an American.

Let's focus on the topic.
I really think Michael Jackson is doing everything possible to imitate Freddie Mercury.

I love reading all this shit!! A topic as rediculous as MJ trying to be Freddie (which is hillarious in itself!) can turn so quickly into something totally unrelated like bashing Americans...and then it's "oh I'm American but not from the states"..and then "oh who cares your all idiots"..and "England Rules!"...then it's "lets focus on the topic"...!?!?!?
This is better than any sitcom TV!!
Thank you all for making my day time and time again! I mean that truely! =)

I didn't mean to cause all that confusion! LOL
Well, GonnaUseMyPrisioners, you assumed wrongly that I believe anything just because it is on the internet. That would be really stupid, huh?
I said what I said because I did a PROPER research on the internet, since I'm a thinking being, after all :)
What I found out was that when I was in school people had not taught me wrongly, and also that this was not a case of a change in the concepts since I left primary school. Loooong ago :) What happens is that there are different concepts in this regard across the world.
By the way, I want to clear that I am not anti-USA, let's make that very clear. I know that the USA are just a country like any other, full of nice and bad people.
As to the denomination of the natives from the USA: In Portuguese we have a word, that also exists in Spanish, that better refers to those native from the USA, which is "estadunidenses". I prefer to use that one. Isn't there one in English?
Finally, Brazil, up to 1969 - or so-, was called "United States of Brazil". We never called ourselves US, though. ;)
And as regards to Michael Jackson, finally... I don't care!!!! LOL
Cheers,
