I totally agree with the posters there. The fact that Madonna has been picked first than Queen, Led Zeppelin, The Stones, and Pink Floyd is a fuckin' insult.

And stop calling Elvis 'The King', the guy didn't even write his own music, and he was about as talented as Justin Timberlake.

Chances are that The Spice Girls and Oasis will be inducted next.

Its a load of bollocks. Queen arent even featured in the advert for it, which is about 50 seconds long! Oh...but Take That get a mention!!
Chom own mudder fukker.
This is the one that's been criticised because there's only one (?) "contestant" that is actually a band from the UK, isn't it? Seems a little pointless to me.
Why have a UK Music Hall Of Fame with only one British band inducted, and two fabricated music acts from America?

That's like a Brazilian Football Hall Of Fame with Beckham, Cantona, Maradona, and Pele as the only Brazilian.

Besides it's more than obvious that British bands have always been superior to bands from America and other countries.

Talk about turning your back against some of the people who brought national pride. IMO, American music is for Americans, British music is for the world.
Elvis was, in a way, revolutionized rock. He had charisma, he had the voice, he had talent. But he never wrote. I think that song writing is an important gauge, if you are a musician.
The only thing Elvis created was the overhype and stardom of Rock N' Roll, which I think was rather created by RCA Records than Elvis himself. It was a way to proove that a record company could turn anyone into a star without being very talented, and that's why we have so many fabricated pop stars going from David Cassidy to Hillary Duff.I have to give him props for being a great performer, but for other than that NO.

You say Elvis invented Rock N' Roll, when Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly and others came even before or around the same time as Elvis... oh and those WROTE their own music. One of the reasons why Elvis got so much overpromotion and hype was because of his image. If Elvis looked like Buddy Holly or Little Richard, he wouldn't be called 'The King Of Rock N' Roll'.

Exactly right, Mr J. You listed the main reason to why he got the fame over others.

Peace,
Adam.
Well, I think the Rock Hall in Ohio is doing very well induction-wise. I can't complain. And as for music, you all know what the general idea is, "you haven't really made it until you've made it in America."
Creativity can always cover for a lack of knowledge.
Does that mean Queen made it, and lost it?
Vote for Queen in the ch4 programme then.
Why did the 80s have to happen? Who wants body language instead of liar ???????????????????????????????????????
