I think that the guy who takes the pictures of The Cross tells the guys very bad news right before he takes their picture. Maybe that is why they always look so sad, unhappy and angry on pictures.
Or is it because they are just bad rockers that are gonna KICK YOUR ASS?

Yeah, I guess they wanted to be mad:bad: and dangerous to know... Any idea why they split up? I read somewhere the Roger is never ever going to play with them again... did something happen? I do like their work.

Right, they were not that bad, except the first RMT-wank-fest-album "Shove it", which was pure crap. Sounds like a very cheap RMT solo album. On shove it they look bad, sound bad and smell bad :-D

Top of the World is a great one, as is Love Lies Bleeding with great guitar by Brian. So Shove it does not suck from beginning to end, but it surly is the less interesting one.
And I guess many musicians would not mind being a substitute band for Queen ;).

Stand Up for Love was always a guilty pleasure of mine. Just who is the woman singing backing vocals on that one? Was it ever revealed?
I was holding out hope that John Kerry was gonna use Shove It as his campaign song after his wife told a reporter to, well, Shove It, but it never came to pass......

They did work with Josh McRae though, after the split of The Cross. Wasn't he playing Percussion at the Tribute, and then Rog's engineer ?
Actually I do like "Shove it", but it should've been a solo album - Rog recorded it on his own anyway.
"Mad, Bad... " is a good rock album, but check out "Better Things", what a nice acoustic-ballad !
"Blue Rock" really kicks ass ! Their best group-effort as a swansong. Lyrics are kinda... ehm... well, kinda silly sometimes but it's just flat out rock, so it fits. No-intention of quoting Shakespeare and thats good.
Saw them live 2 times. On the first occassion -Bonn '88 - only about 50-70 people were there (in a venue for about 600-700, I guess) and when they entered the stage Roger tried to refrain from laughter when he saw the audience but ended up laughing out loud anyway and had to start singing three times. But it was good fun, they played a full set with encores and were basically jamming around and having fun. Great gig !
They returned to Bonn in 1990 and this time about 500 people were there - good rock show again, but I will never forget the funny intimacy of the first gig.
Last time I saw them was in a TV-Show in 1991 (miming) - check story on "Have you met Queen"-Topic.

Shove it is absolutely terrible, the worst produced album EVER!
With each next album it was getting better, but... there was always sth missing... Probably, if it wasn't for Roger I wouldn't even notice them....

Heaven for Everyone is superb! I prefer The Cross version with Freddie more than the Queen version - *prepares for a battering!*
I really like Blue Rock, especially Hand of Fools and The Also Rans sound pretty good! Still I think that The Cross never got to determine their image. They look like mean angry guys on pictures and you would expect them to scream some nasty things on their records instead of "This world could be fed, this world could be fun".
