I am going to dive deep for this one. During the Guitar Flicks Vol. 1, Brian gives his talk the clicks on a switch to play. What switch is he using and what is it for? I have several ideas, but I am sure someone might know for sure.
Thanks,

If I'm understanding what you're on about, isn't he just turning his amp on? Every time he talks he puts the amp on standby to get rid of the unwanted hiss that the amp gives off, and obviously has to turn it back on to play again.
Gullibility and credulity are considered undesirable qualities in every department of human life -- except religion.
It sounds and looks to me, like he is using a clean/dirty switch. FOr the exact reason you pointed out. The noise comming from the amp at the volume he uses is pretty loud.

I think he used a volume pedal in those days
"It sounds and looks to me, like he is using a clean/dirty switch"

There isn't a clean/dirty switch on an Ac30
"On the first day Pim & Niek created a heavenly occupation. Pim & Niek blessed it and named it 'Loosch'." (Genesis 1:1)
WHatever button he pushed, it makes a pretty big sound. So, if it is not a clean dirty, what could it be. I don't think that a volume pedal would make that kind of sound when activated.

It's the on/off or standby button ofcourse
