No he didn't die, the reason Queen split up was because John deacon (the nobody) died. Hence the John deacon awareness concert to raise mild public interest in a very boring bassist.

Not everyone knows that Freddie died. its not the most talked about thing in the news. i didn't know he was dead until a couple of weeks after getting my first Queen cd
I know, I didn't know that he was dead 'til like 3 or 4 years ago..(when my obsession truly started) but I just figured if you could research somehow to find this website you would've easily been able to find out that he was dead. For example, if you type Freddie Mercury in most search engines some of the results will say, died at age 45, etc.
I don't understand how people who didn´t even know that the band's main member died 13 years ago, can waste their time in joining and writing to a queen forum.
