Lately my mum has been getting about 2 junk mails a day from either Captial One and City Bank, and today she really has really had enough. So we re-stuffed the envelope with varioius trash items and junk such as gum wrappers, torn out magazine clippings, a note (saying- How do you LIKE IT?), old cross word puzzle, advertisements, etc. (I wanted to stick some food in there but she didn't want to be that cruel).
The whole point of this is that they have to pay by the weight of the letter so... she's making them pay! (You sort of had to of been here.. we were having our own laughs and going crazy...but I'm not going into details..)
So, how do you deal with junk mail?

Been doing this for years.
It doesn't stop them, but it does force them to recycle their own shit.

Ever call in to order something over the phone and the representative tries to sell you a service that is "free for the first three months"? That's a cross-sell. They're trying to get you to sign up for some useless service that will be billed to your credit card long after you've forgotten to cancel after your "free" three month trial period. What a crock.
Exactly. Only one time, my mum tried aol for 6 months free and when she called to cancel they said that they were going to give her another month for free. She was really sick of it and when she called agian wanting to cancel they said she could have another free month and after quite some time she finally got her point across that she didn't like it and wanted to cancel the service.

You could also save all the junk mails up and do what one of my mates once did and take them to a recyclying paper plant and sell it to them.
They would actually buy them off of you? I don't think they do that around here.
Barry UK your idea is brilliant. Count me in!
