Introduction

Hello all

I'm new to this forum, to this site even and was looking for an introductionthread. As I am posting a new topic, you can see that I failed to do so. If any of you know where to find an introductionthread please point me to it, so I can re-do this post in there.

Anyways, my introduction:

The name is Banshee, and I'm a 26 year old bloke from The Netherlands. I have been a Queenfan for years and in the last few years (after completing my official collection) I've been concentrating on Queen-goodies, like rare LP's, promo's and bootlegs. Buying a decent bootleg at a Dutch record fair is proving to be expensive and I found that my collection isn't really large enough to start swapping.

I have always been reluctant to use P2P programs. I don't need crap like trojans and spyware. Recently a mate of mine pointed me towards DC++, but his downloads rarely top 5kB/s and that just gets annoying. :)

Anyways, I was not too sure about Emule yet when a clanmate of mine told me about BitTorrent. I agreed that that was a medium I might like to use for downloads. It's got decent speeds most of the time and (in my opinion) is relatively safe. So the last few days I've been dabbling with ABC on suprnova.org.

There I found some nice Queen bootlegs, but quite large for MP3. (Attention please, the plot thickens.) Trying to investigate why these downloads were this large, I noticed a little box telling me the Torrentseeds (I think this is the correct term) originated from Queenzone.com. So... here I am. =)

It's true, I confess. I joined this site for the Torrent downloads... Guilty as charged. I don't know how much time I'll have for normal chat or browsing this forum enlightning you all with my elevated opinions ;), but I hope I can find a couple of decent downloads here.

This Queen-hub has gotten my interest as well. "The biggest Queen library in the world" just is a term that makes my mouth water. I won't join just yet for reasons stated above, but who knows, some research and a lot of positive comments from you people about the hub might make me reconsider. ;)

I've been enjoying browsing these forums the last couple of days. Already downloaded a fair share of really nice bootlegs. Trying to get the bloody FLACS to work at the moment. (I'm frustrated, so I thought I'd make a post. :))
