Shortened Titles.

Why do some Queenzoners Shorten the name of Queen songs ?

For example

"I want to break free" IWTBF
"Dont stop me now" DSMN

These are the easier ones that are easyier to work out.
however I am a great fan of queen, But Dont know all the songs Yet, and will not learn them by looking at a whole bunch of letters !!!!!

I understand. Well, simply put, it makes it a whole lot easier to abbreviate the song titles instead of saying them letter for letter.
Take these few sentences for example:

Do you like the guitar riff on We Will Rock You? It's fantastic! Not as good as the riff from I Want It All, though. It sort of reminds me of Death On Two Legs in a way. The best bassline is obviously Another One Bites The Dust. Or what about Under Pressure?

Here's how it would look abbreviated:

see how shorter it is? less pain on the hands lol

However, not all song titles can be understood.
Like these, for example:

WIAWI = ?
TATDOOL = ?
MOTBQ = ?
GDML = ?

weird, isn't it? the first one looks like Miami lol!

Haven't got a clue? Here's the answers:

WIAWI = Was It All Worth It (From The Miracle, 1989)
TATDOOL = These Are The Days Of Our Lives (From Innuendo, 1991)
MOTBQ = March Of The Black Queen (From Queen II, 1974)
GDML = Get Down, Make Love (From News Of The World, 1977)

These abbreviations work sort of like the common internet lingo (lol, lmao, ttyl, rotflmfao, etc.) Though you may not understand all of them, I, and hopefully a few of the members here, will help you understand them.

However, I also dislike the abbreviations. I much prefer short titles like
days of our lives
Rock You
etc...

My most treasured abbreviation in the internet world is:

k=ok=okay.

an abbreviation of an abbreviation...
