My brother once told me he read an article about it and the Trust is not doing well. Financially it is a disaster... but I wouldn't take his word for granted.
I think it's just there to raise money, not to research AIDS and stuff related to it.
Profits from the downloadable bootlegs on QOL go to the MTP, so it's still there.
