Is it just me or is Deaky playing guitar during I think it was "Staying Power" one of the "funk" songs, anyways I'm pretty sure it was him playing the guitar, and from his hand movements I could tell he was playing some really cool funk riffs, (being a guitarist myself)

Yes both Brian and John play rhythm in that one: Brian doubles the synth-bass riff, John adds the funky licks.
