i've read somewhere freddie's real name is Farrokh. and it is a persian name. is he from persia? would anybody pliz give me some more info? tnx. (sorry for my poor english)

i know he lived in zanzibar when he was a youngun', but other then that.... oh! and his parents (and possibly him) were Zoroastrian...hope that helps and welcome to QZ!

Freddie came from a Parsee family, so technically his ancestors were Persian (in the broader sense)...some 1000-1500 years ago.
