Hi! I discovered the BBC comedy Coupling a month ago and i became a great fan of it! Nice characters and funny dialogues. A really good combination. I checked on the web that in USA it didn't worked. Do you know why? Is the sense of humor different from one country to another? (I guess so). Nevertheless i found it really funny, and i'm not from UK. So, what do you think? And did you see it and liked it?

I don't mind Coupling. Especially the 'Giggle Loop'. So true.

I use to watch that show. I became addicted I guess because of the curly haired one and his accent. I think they stopped showing it where I am.
I've never watched it religiously but when I have watched the odd episode, I've loved it.
Richard Coyle (Jeff) is VERY easy on the eye, AND he's from my home city of Sheffield (not Welsh) and went to a primary school not far from mine.

if you got BBC digital try and get to see Nighty-Night, and Grass - now these are great comedy. The second series of swiss Toni isn't too bad either
Coupling's not bad - some episodes are classics, "The Man With Two Legs" from season two comes to mind.
Steven Moffat's a great writer in any genre (hands up who remembers "Press Gang"), and I can't wait for his "Doctor Who" two-parter "The Empty Child" next year.

Yes. I was having this very discussion with my dad the other day and we decided that British humour is based much more on innuendo whereas in America they bash us on the head with the (usually sexual) jokes. Compare The Office and Friends. The British also know when to stop. Take Fawlty Towers. They made only 12 episodes of that, all solid gold, and quit while they were ahead. The Americans don't do this. Again, I cite Friends, and more recently Sex and the City.
This is why the idea of an Americanised version of the Office terrifies me.

The american version got canceled so quick. It was terrible.
I'd go so far as to say it was the best British sitcom ever, the first three series are genius.
I'm glad the American one failed. It was terrible.
