Yeah, the Spanish won the match, but lost the right to call themselves a civilised footballing nation-did you hear their fans??

Given the press hype surrounding aragones' comments about Thierry Henry, I'm possibly even more shocked, if such a thing is possible, that they treated Wright-Phillips and Cole like that, what do they think this is, 1870?

My sentiments exactly. If England had made Monkey noises throughout that match, we would have had the book thrown at us, barred from this - barred from that. Uefa are saying they cant do a thing because the game was played under Fifa rules - BOLLOCKS! Uefa should be straight on the phone to Fifa demanding that they do something. There is no place for racism in football. I know it was a only a small minority of Spanish fans that were making these noises but in my opinion, they should rot in hell.

The team did nothing, it was a minority of thier scumbag fans that made racist gestures to the black English players.

I agree with BMW. If it'd have been the England fans, we'd be out on our arses' by now. Sepp Blatter would have been thowing accusations and condemnations about all over the place; all he's done is say that racism has no place in football - not a word about the Spanish supporters who did it.

England were fined for anti-Turk abuse only last year, and their supporters have a long history of racism, with "I'd rather be a Paki than a wog" still getting an outing on a regular basis.

P_G, you're right-and of course it's very british of us to cast the first stone in this one, but I think it's fair to say that if England had been playing France and made monkey noises like that, we'd have been barred from something or fined something or been made to play cricket till kingdom come.

I think they should kick them out of the World Cup, I really do. If we're meant to be a footballing community and all that, how can we have a load of monkey noises every time Henry, Cisse, Vieira, Ronaldo, Okocha and other great black players touch the ball?

You can't kick a country out for having moronic fans. England would have never entered a competition since 1974 in that scenario. No, you have to get tough and make Spain play their next two home group games behind closed doors.

I remember the days of 'trigger, trigger shoot that...' no-one in England wants to go down that road again. We learnt I see no reason why the Spanish won't.

Fair enough, but maybe they should kick England out too, it'd save us all the stress of building the team up only to find out they're nowhere near as good as we all think!

The trick there is not to blindly believe whatever the media tells you...then there's no let down as your expectations are only ever realistic.

As for Spain, how about making them play their next three home games in Namibia? or compulsory Al Jolson make up for all Spanish players.

Ideal solution. Positive discrimination - no white players to play for Spain for next year.
