In the missing section of the booklet, it explains that while Geldof was singing "Rat Trap" - he "wrenched the microphone cable from it's socket and his vocals were lost." This is probably the part you're talking about.

If you didn't have MTV in 1985, you got the 3-hour version with Dick Clark on ABC. Queen wasn't even mentioned. I didn't even know they were at Live Aid until a couple years later.
As I've said, read the fucking leaflet.

Bowie's wasn't that good a performance. 'Heroes' sounds better with guitars than just synths so that version wasn't great, until the crowd really kicked in near the end. U2's performance was out standing. Especially 'Bad'. The guitar sounds amazing.
But of course Queen took it by the balls and showed how it's done. The camera men didn't seem to know Queen had a drummer though. Needed more Brian, John and Roger shots. When there's a guitar solo, why follow Freddie. GO TO BRIAN!
Status Quo was very good to I feel. Alot of the songs may sound similar. but you can't sit still to those riffs.
Macca's Let It Be is to slow and is rubbish. Now he plays those songs abit faster and they sound much, much better.
Elvis Costello's 'All You Need Is Love' is good with the fans singing along for the absent instruments.
Boomtown Rats wern't bad but I've seen better 'I Don't Like Mondays' performances.
Elt wasn't bad or great.
Beach Boys were O.K, as were Sabbath.
Apart from that it wasn't that great a Concert. Still would have loved to have been there. The feeling must have been great.
However, the finale was great. Really good song, 1000 times better than America's. The American concert didn't seem to have quite the same feel as U.K's.

Very good for Queen. The reason why so many performances are not included is that they simply didn't have the footage any more. Led Zeppelin were crap.
I enjoy it a lot, especially seeing the documentary that Bob Geldof saw about Ethiopia. It really opened my eyes to a part of the world I knew nothing about and Live Aid just seemed so much more inspired.
Of course, I love Queen's performance! But here's my question: After or before what performance does Bob Geldof come out and say, "give us your fucking money!" because in Q magazine, in some special edition, there was an article about Live Aid saying how he did that, but they didn't say where.

Zep's performance was a highlight for my mom and older sister as they were Zep fans. I think Queen and Zep were the highlights at Live Aid
