Sad but true.

Well people it has been a fun ride. We had fights, and laughs, and plenty of good times. But I'm afraid I just have to leave. The 'old timers' are getting squeezed out by the flood of newbies, and the likes of the idiot Baer. It's no fun coming here. Unless you like senceless ignorance every time you got to this page. Others have been complaining about it, and no one seems to want to do anything about it. Why is that? Are they afraid to step on someones toes? Richard and Barb should be doing something. Instead they just sit on thier hands and watch something that I (and many others) love, go down the tubes. What a shame. I had friends here, and many of them are gone too. Sure...I've said it before, and this is the last time I promise you. It's just far too stupid of a place.

Well, you can just take breaks randomly. That's what I've been doing because QZ is not worth checking every day. You just have to ignore the crap and keep on going! :-)

Richard and YV have done the right thing to create an atmosphere free of censorship and moderator manipulation. If Matt wants to throw the baby out with the bath water - that is his preogative. I suppose Matt could settle for QOL?

Every time I see one of these goodbye messages I wish I had been introduced to Queen sooner. It's really frustrating to just come to appreciate not only the group, but all of you who have been here far longer as well, just in time for the decline of it all.

I've only been here for a few months, I know, and I'm admittedly quite ignorant about much that's discussed here, but I always look forward to seeing posts by people like Janet, Lisser, Mayboy, Geeks&Geeks, Bob the Shrek, Fried Chicken, Flashman, Fatty, Miss James, Zeni, and so many others. It's not just your knowledge, either...you've all been here long enough to establish a kind of comfortable comraderie and familiarity between each other. In many ways, all of you have made me love and appreciate Queen more because of this.

So, while I'll admit that there are a lot of posts/posters who do irritate me with their needless, endless redundancy, horrid grammar, and ridiculous, unintelligent commentary, they are easily overlooked when it means I get the joy of learning from knowledgeable fans and exchanging ideas/news with people I genuinely like.

In the almost three months since I joined, I've seen so many of these goodbyes, it's depressing. I doubt there's anything I can say that will convince anyone to come back, but please, I'm going to ask anyways. You really are sorely missed.

I am sorry that you feel that way, Matt, but I really don't see what Richard or I can do to make this board worth your time. You don't expect us to delete all topics that don't meet your intellectual expectation, do you? Stupidity, ignorance and self importance cannot be deleted and I don't enjoy it, either. It's only the users of this message board who can make it worthwhile. Moderation is not the answer - just take a look at QOL and you'll see they have just as many stupid posts and they need even more time to get rid of the trolls - with a whole group of moderators.

I'm constantly being informed as to how great this place used to be. And as to how many wonderful people have left, because of the newbies.

Well I never realised this was an exclusive club, for a selected few. I thought it was for everyone, be them good or bad.

To be honest with you M@tt, I think it's a bit of a cop-out to leave for the reasons you've given. There are a lot of nice people here who have recently joined, and perhaps you have'nt taken the time to get to know them.

To leave for the sake of one or two people, who will probably bore themselves rigid after a shortwhile, is'nt the answer in my opinion. As you say, you still have friends here and there are plenty more to be made.

Some of you guys have to stop looking through rose tinted spectacles.

I cannot tell some of you newer people (Metzer, Brimon, etc) how many times I have heard "This place has gone down the drain - it isn't what it used to be." The fact of the matter is, there are high points on Queenzone and low ones. Sure a lot of very nice people have left Queenzone, like Eggy and Sonya, etc..., but this does not necessarily mean that this board went bad along with their departures.

There are a lot of nice people here, who I think keep Queenzone to be nice. If everyone gave in and said they were leaving, what would this board be anymore? Probably nothing or at the least, a board of some very scary posters (lol...)

Okay, I'm rabbling now. But I'm just trying to say that you really haven't come in at a bad time like some people say. To me, Queenzone has not changed all that much over the last four or however many years that I have been here.

Matt I feel your pain! I too feel this place has taken a turn for the worse, but there are many good people here and you will be missed.
