During lunch today, I was engaged in a heated argument with a couple of my friends about Teletubbies. They, like everyone else, all believe that Tinky-Winky is gay. I think this is totally ridiculous. How on earth does it(?) have a sexual preference if it isn't even a specific gender. My friends were telling me that the rest of the teletubbies DO have genders (one of my friends even added that they have feelings and sexual desires too). I seriously doubt that Teletubbies have sex organs. I yelled at one of my friends "Tinky-Winky doesn't even have a penis!" and she said "Yes he does!" I yelled back, "No he doesn't!" And this went on for about a minute. Then I got really fed up with them and shouted that they were asexual because they were just created by a couple of British guys on acid.

Teletubbies are some of the scariest things on earth. Along with puppets and clay figures.

I think Boohbah might be even scarier.

Supossedely it's because Tinky Winky is a male character who carries a red lady's purse with him.

Also Tinky Winky has made special appearances on a Richard Simmons fitness video.

Oh and did I forget to mention that episode in which Tinky Winky lost his Cher CD.

...yeah i guess i agree with Sgt. Pepper... I thought the teletubbies didnt have a sex... they may have a gender, but Im not familiar enough with teletubbie society and culture to know the different genders they have...
either way its still ridiculous.

Teletubbies scare the shit out of me... and that sun with the baby's face... EEEE.

Boobahs are just creepy. I had to babysit once and the girl made me sit through an episode. I even had to do the little dances with her... I think God hated me on that day.

Don't forget the triangle antenna and purple color. Personally, I think Tinky Winky was created partially to wind up the religious right

Yeah, I think people were against Tinky-Winky more because he was a represented homosexuality than because he was actually gay. The triangle and the purple are well-known gay symbols, and the fact that he has a low, male voice and carries a handbag doesn't help, I'm sure. I still think it's ridiculous though. The kids aren't going to pick up on that kind of stuff, and even if he was intended to be gay, it shouldn't be such a big deal.
Playful as a pussycat.

That's almost exactly what I was going to say... Babies are extremely frightening on their own. Add a yellow tint and flames, And you have an effective tool for nightmare making.
