My Thoughts on Band Aid 20

What an absolute pile of shite. What the fuck is the rapping all about?? Bob Geldof has made a HUGE mistake, I can understand why he is trying to raise the cash and its for a superb cause, but to wreck a song such as DTKIC, im appauled. There are even radio stations in the Uk that are urging people to go out and buy it because its for a good cause, but they are refusing to play it! Bono has yet again made a twat out of himself because after spitting his dummy out over 'his' line, hes re recorded it and it sounds wank.

Im VERY dissapointed. Pete Waterman did a better job in 1989 with Band Aid 2.

I could'nt agree more BMW. I've just watched the video and I was gobsmacked. If that is the best of the pop world at the moment, then Brian or Roger should release something soon, it would have no problem going to no1. And that guitar solo..no, that was wrong. And that girl band, they were bad, I thought they needed a rocket up their arses, to try to put some life into them. I'd rather put my couple of quid in a bucket than buy that.

From reading about who would be doing what on this song, I was expecting it to turn out to be a real dogs breakfast. Though I haven't heard it yet, it appears from your reactions that this is waht has happened. (I mean really, can a Dizzee Rascal Rap really sit alongside a Justin Hawkins Guitar solo and Dido's crooning? Probably not).

I heard it for the first time the other day..and it is the worst thing i have ever heard!! still what do u expect most of the ppl who took part are absolultely talentless. Saying that though it is a great cause so i will be buying a copy

Saw the video on the beeb earlier. What a pile of arse. It doesn't seem to mesh together as a song, if that makes any sense. It's sort of...discombobulated

Thsi is is really rubish, well not that bad really. What I dnt get is ehy theyv used footage from the original farmin film from 1984 and put in the new video. Yes people are dying but that case was 20 years ago, if you want to raise money for this use up to date footage of the fammine not thats past. But any Im glad bob geldof has made an appearance I mean it cant be made to sound like the original, this one is more of a softer version.

The reason why they showed a clip from 1984 is because one of the survivors from that clip, a young girl, appears in the new video. Its to show how our charitable deeds in the past and in the future has helped these people in their daily plight.

I'm not buying it. Stuff for a good cause - I donated £20 to the live aid fund earlier today and bought the dvd on day of release - that'll do for me.

It was a shite song last time, it'll be a shite song this time. I don't hold out a lot of hope for hearing it here though and I don't really care. I'm sure there are more ear-friendly ways of raising money for charity.

I kind of liked it.

Not as good as the original, but not nearly as bad as this thread makes it sound.
