polyphonic spree: is it a cult?

i saw these ppl on the mtv video awards, and now i saw a picture of brian playing with them. what the hell are they? they sound AWFUL and look like a cult. if anyone likes them, can you tell me why?

Yeah, they do look like a cult ... I saw them open for Bowie in June ... they have a few songs that are pretty good, actually.

hahahaha now that you mention it THAT is what they remind me of...the songs i've heard are catchy in a strange hypnotic way....seriously
