By the way, if it's a contest between Brits and Yanks, Brits totally dominated. IMO.

they sure did,
IMO the American show sucked

In England, they had all the big guns

buy it at amazon.com, only 35 dollars (27 euro's!)incl. p&p !!!

Better than de 50 euro's they ask here in the shop... some even dare to ask 60 euro's!!

they should have included Jack Nicholson's original live intro to Dancing In The St on the DVD

I have to agree - the UK show was much better than the American one.....Queen's performance certainly outdid them all! Their sound was brilliant and when Freddie was messing around with the cameraman, well, that was funny as hell! The audience loved it also! :-)
GO, GO, GO LITTLE QUEENIE!!!!!!!!!!!

i can't believ this thread....
why would anyone need to justify being a queen fan by saying they are "proud"?

you are a fan of a band because you like their music...it's not some cause of the age people, we're not tlaking about standing up for improtant beliefs - freedom of speech, incarceration, religion, racism, or political freedom here....it's fucking music...enjoy...don't make it into a cause, because it's meant to be fun

Great Queen moment for me. . .

I went to the Virgin megastore in NY last week, which usually isn't a special moment, but as I walk in I hear the opening notes of Bohemian Rhapsody. . . they are playing the Queen Live Aid performance not only on the big screen, but on every TV on the floor at full volume (the floor was skaking it was so loud!). People were literally stopped in their tracks watching it. Some were singing along.

I have to say I got a little teary eyed.
Queens Queenie. . . the sequel

Yep, sometimes you forget after a while how great they really where - then you just have to watch them again and it brings it all back.
They were great at Live Aid, and their music is still great now!!

The only artist who could have perhaps stolen the show at Live Aid along with Queen, would have been Michael Jackson.

He didn't perform.

Why do some people always want to tell others what's right or what's wrong?

I feel proud because that's how I felt when I watched them performing. It's like seeing somebody close to you doing great, you just feel proud of them. Queen is underrated in the States, and watched them outperformed American artists really makes me proud. So what's wrong with that? Remember, everyone is unique, so don't tell others what to write, what to say, what to think or how to feel.

but how are THEY close to you?
they're not your friends
they're not your relatives
you don't even know them

it's a fact of like - you can't feel proud of their music - bcause YOU didn't have any input into it's creation

you can enjoy their music, and feel pleased that you discovered it. you can even feel pleased with your own taste in music...but in english...both grammatically and emotionally - you cannot feel proud to be a fan....that's like feeling proud of yourself for liking ice cream

Why can't I feel proud to be a Queen fan? That's how I feel, and why can't I say so? If you don't feel that way, that's your problem, not mine. This is ridiculous. Why do I have to explain myself to you? Who do you think you are to judge other people? Please keep this in mind: You entitle to your opinions, but your opinions are not necessary right for others. You don't know others' feelings or experiences, so don't speak for others.

Queen had a flawless performance. Pink Floyd's David Gilmour did well with Bryan Ferry although his guitar was out of commission for the first two numbers before he switched to his candy apple red Strat which he uses today. Unfortunately, Queen's performance was ignored in America and was pre-empted. When I watched Live Aid I was stoked when Led Zep reunited and Zep was the highlight at Live Aid in the US no matter how bad they said they played the crowd went nuts when Zep reunited! Queen stole the show at the UK performance!
