I've decided I want to burn a new CD of cheesy 80's love songs, such as Foreigner's "I Want To Know What Love Is" or Eric Carmen's "Hungry Eyes". I think some of these songs are entertaining and remind me of what I heard on the radio when I was a little kid. Plus, I want the CD to blast in my car!

So-- what are some of your favorite cheesy 80's love songs/power ballads?
...Erica* "I don't judge others. I say if you feel good with what you're doing, let your freak flag fly." --Sarah Jessica Parker

Does 99 Red Balloons count? Probably not- but I still love that song- the English AND German versions.
Kay Adams Corleone- The ultimate desperate housewife

Now and Forever, by Richard Marx
Although I absolutely hate hair-band ballads...

Thanks so far, haha... I think hair metal ballads are the funniest things ever. I mean, come on... who HASN'T sang along to "Every Rose Has Its Thorn"?
...Erica* "I don't judge others. I say if you feel good with what you're doing, let your freak flag fly." --Sarah Jessica Parker

Solid As A Rock, by Ashford and Simpson.

I was going out with a girl called Julie at the time, and this was our song. A couple of weeks later we broke up.

Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now (hey, it's a love song..isn't it?)
Elton John - Little Jeannie (ultimate cheese)
Glen Medeiros - Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You (fucking ultra-hyper-mega-super-cheesier-than-cheesy)
and others...

Oh God, too many, but too many to mention... some of them are indeed cheesy and corny, but others are true classics.

Bon Jovi - Never Say Goodbye
Foreigner - Waiting For A Girl Like You
Motley Crue - Home Sweet Home
Warrant - Heaven
Cutting Crew - I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight
Chicago - Hard To Say I'm Sorry
Extreme - More Than Words
Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
Scorpions - Still Loving You
The Bangles - Eternal Flame
Sindead O'Connor - Nothing Compares To You
Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse Of The Heart
Cheap Trick - The Flame
U2 - With or Without You
Steelheart - She's Gone
The Cars - Drive
Damn Yankees - High Enough
Heart - Alone
Poison - Every Rose Has It's Torn
Phil Collins - Agains All Odds
Bad English - When I See You Smile
Roxette - Listen To Your Heart
Mr. Big - To Be With You
Berlin - Take My Breath Away
White Lion - When The Children Cry
Boston - Amanda
Def Leppard - Love Bites
Great White - Save Your Love
Skid Row - I Remember You
Richard Marx - Right Here Waiting For You
REO Speedwagon - Can't Fight This Feeling
Saigon Kick - Love Is On The Way
Glen Medeiros - Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You
Whitesnake - Is This Love

Sometimes I feel like I'm too stuck into the 80s, and I blame it on the awful music of today that makes you miss the music of the past decades... it might have been corny and crappy, but at least far more enjoyable than the garbage we listen on the radio today.

Aren't both "Extreme - More Than Words" , "Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U" from the year 1990 and technically not 80's songs...?
(though may have been recorded in 1989...)
[/silly nitpick]
