Pino Palladino is a very renowned and proficient bass-player who actually can be considered as the Rolls Royce of session bass-players.
Please also note that they've been replacing John Deacon for years now (Neil Murray, Steve Barnacle) and nobody seemed to complain too much.
So it's no big thing if they're gonna hire Pino Palladino for future projects. If they're gonna continue properly again, they'll need a bass-player appropriate to the grandeur of the band. Pino Palladino certainly matches that description (unlike Steve Barnacle who was more like a Winebago than a Rolls Royce).

Thats funny I could swear I saw a band playing on the UK Hall of Fame with the name "Queen" on their drum set. Seems like they exist to me...
I could even see them playing with the "Queen" logo on the drum set in Hyde Park in front of 200.000 people...

For crying out loud! As much many of you bitch and moan, Brian and Roger have and ARE going to continue using the name "Queen". If you dont like it I suggest you deal with it, cause your incessant whining is not going to change anything.

A lot of us are taking things way too seriously about the simple name of QUEEN. It's a trademark; it's the name that will sell CDs and tickets, not May, Taylor, Etc or Half Of Queen or (ugh) Queen +. It's a name thing with Brian and Roger, it's the last hallmark of how things once were (notice I said "were", not "are") and the link to the past. In a strange way, for people to recognise them they HAVE to use it, even though Freddie's been dead well over a decade and John Deacon's been retired almost that long.
We will simply have to accept their judgement; for it's all of us supporting them by buying their CDs and DVDs. If we weren't, then how would things look for QUEEN? Rather bleak, I'm afraid.
If they will embarrass themselves by using that trademark, let them -- it's theirs to use so we can gripe more about how not politically-correct they are using it with half of the group technically gone.

Oh please! That is just the kind of over emotional clap trap that makes no sense. Pauls sitution is nothing like Brian and Rogers. Firstly Paul is a well known name he doesnt need to use the Beatles name to get attention. Secondly Queen were unique is that their line-up remained the same for so long. There are many, many, many other bands that had numerous line-up changes. Should they have changed their name each time?!? It would also be equally ridiculous of me to say that Axl is using the name "Guns & Roses" so why cant Brian and Roger use the name Queen? The fact of the matter is (and I am starting to sound like a broken record) there is NO debate here. They ARE using the name "Queen". Not they MIGHT use it in the future, they ARE using it. Like it or dont, it changes nothing. At the end of the day it will be up to the public to decide if they want to support the new Queen. Maybe it work (I hope it does) and maybe it wont. Let them make their own decision without crying and sounding like some outraged Freddie fanatic!
well I ain't apologising for being a "Freddie Fanatic" and really they have not used QUEEN with another bass player and a "new" frontman - they have used Queen and had guest spots, and when they have recorded it has been as Queen +.

Well thats fair enough. Freddie was a tremendous talent an no-one can take that away from him. In fact its quite likely that any future activities by Queen with a new front man will just remind the world how great a talent he was. In any case no matter what happens in the future, we will always have the great music of the past to listen to as well.
