My gaffer often says "We don't have two ears because we need telling twice", which is similar to his other wise offering "Why use three words when one will save your breath?"

I've learnt a lot from the gaffer in my life, he's full of good advice, even though he's barely ventured further than the end of the road. "The best place for dreams is in your head ", is what gaffer says.
But my particular favourite, and the one I adhere to most is "The only things you need in this life, young Rabon" he says, "are a full stomach and a glass to empty."
I love my gaffer - I'd be lost without him.

What's the best advice you've ever had?
I don't mean no harm!

from my mom: "never feel pity for a boy"
from my dad: "never reveal your political opinions. be neutral"

Always put your hand brake on in a drive way.

Dad= a ton of 'em but here's my favorites
"Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey"
"Tighten lug nuts in a star-fashion"
"Check your oil as often as you can"
"A dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one"
"Whatever you take apart, make sure you can put 'em back the way you found them"

Mom= this is the best one I've got
"Never let anybody take advantage of you"

And lastly:
"A good sharp knife is better than anything else, except women and horses, of course."

My 'gaffer' ain't got as much to say as yours, young Rabon my lad, not since I had him put in the 'Dunlivin Home For The Mentally Absurd', rot him. We're lucky if we get the odd toot or strange clicking sound out of him these days. Mind you, his eyes still light up when there's totty about - so he's still in there somewhere, the old rogue.

The only bits of advice I can offer are: Always know your nearest exits in case you need to take flight suddenly..
And if you want to learn a language properly, learn it in bed with a native girl - I'd have got more of the classics from an hour's wrestling with a Greek wench than I did in four years at public school.
FLASHMAN STRIKES AGAIN! Paul Rodgers is not the best thing since fried Fred.

I have one that I just learned.. Always smack the tree with a bat to check for bees BEFORE you stick anything inside the hole..
My Brothers and Sisters all hated me 'cause I was an only child... -Weird Al (Generic Blues) I gave up on books when 'To Kill A Mockingbird' gave me no useful advice on how to kill a mockingbird.

Well, I wouldn't call this the best advice but this is something valuable my mum taught me:

Anything (or atleast ALMOST everything) free on the internet is a scam.

(I stuck this on the ipod section, too....there are a FEW exceptions to this rule...like the free stuff we got off of kraft's website a few years ago..)
"The walls we build around us to keep sadness out also keep out the joy." (Jim Rohn)

And that trampoline we stole from old man Connors.
