Don't even mention dancing to me.

In Latin America dancing is a big part of social life. So constantly you get invited to parties where they play a lot of salsa, merengue, and other Caribbean rythms. I for once felt like a complete fool because I didn't know how to dance, I tried to learn a bit but I was still bad. I found salsa to be especially hard because it's just hard to catch the rythym.

Is it the same way in Spain, Sonja?

Unless the party I'm invited to is a family party, where I know pretty much everybody, then I guess I don't mind dancing and looking like a complete dumbass in front of everyone. At least is for sheer fun.
But when you get invited to a party where you don't really know anyone, then you gotta watch out how you dance. Especially after drinking, although a few drinks might actually help you loosen up and not feel so nervous.

Funny that you mentioned... "You can get laid without knowing how to dance"... my friends used to tell me the complete opossite.

I'm actually planning on taking classes for salsa soon...but right now all I know is classical ballet, which I don't think quite meshes with the other dances mentioned...

this is soooooooo embarrassing, but when i was in 5th or 6th grade my friends and i had a little dance routine to "blame it on the rain" by milli vanilli. we actually did this for a spring show at school on the FOOTBALL FIELD! 4 or 5 goofy little girls with spandex leggings, an over-sized tshirt tied on the side and keds with like neon socks doing the mc hammer dance to that stupid song

wooooooooooooow cool! :P
