I was talking to a friend on the train tonight about how today's music sucks compared to the 60s and 70s. She grew up being a big Beatle fan and I told her I was a big Queen Fan. Anyway, she told me her daughter's wedding song was "Your My Best Friend" and then chuckled about the song because
she heard that "Best Friend" referred to cocaine.
This is a first for me, anyone hear of this?
"If I look half as good to you people as you do to me, I must look good."
I've never heard that. I guess the lyrics could be about cocaine, but it's kind of a stretch. I mean, John's always said it was about his wife. I think people just love to look for hidden meanings. Whether there actually is a hidden meaning, though, is a different story! :)
Resistance is futile. You are now an orb.

...this kettle is boiling over... ...one dump...one turd...two tits...John Deacon... ...one prawn...one shrimp...one clam...one chicken!
Veronica is the street slang for cocaine.

It's true because I read it on the internet.
Did John get involved with drugs?

i highly doubt it is about drugs, i think it's just a sappy song that john wrote about his wife veronica
I want to break free from your lies you're so self satisfied I don't need you
yah everybody says everything is about drugs these days. It's a conspiracy I tell you! Parents wanting to have a reason to ban their children from listening to Queen! Lol What am I saying?
Madam, you have between your legs an instrument capable of giving pleasure to thousands and all you can do is scratch it. -Sir Thomas Beecham to a lady cellist
Oh, and Keep Passing The Open Windows is about SoHo drug dealers too.
it's about gay sex. or at least, so i heard from my friendly neighborhood streetcorner pharmacist.
Yeah...

*points to other posts* What they said. Heh heh.
Cheers

No lie but the actual song 'Puff The Magic Dragon' made me cry as a kid. When I hear it now it still brings a lump to my throat.
Guess who's back?
