I just got this on LaserDisc (finally!), and I have to say, I think this video sucks.
The camera shots weren't good, the sound editing was horrible, and please WHY the bloody audience overdubs a la WWRY Montreal?!
Tell me your thoughts...

Yes, very crap. Crap lighting, crap pictures and poor sound. Not my fave concert. The whole production is nearly as bad as Rare Live!
I LOVE IT!
i saw rock in rio, and i loved it, that was the first show i seen, i loved "it's a hard life" was good stuff, but it would be interesting to see it now, after i'v seen wembly or wwry and the bowl, how it is in comparison with those shows.
The Works Tour shows all could be done much better (for example: Roger's drums' sound)
Footages sometimes are really hectic and video was much edited, that's pity.

I don't like Rock In Rio much at all! I like all thier other videos and concerts though. With the exception of Made In Heaven The Films. Thats just boring. Like the music though.
I like that show. But the sound isnt very good. But a lot of great songs and Brian`s outfit is worth the whole show in my opinion. But remeber:
Don`t judge them so hard!its only entertaiment.

Well, nothing can be done so much about the video since that is how it is.
However, *IF* they ever plan to re-mix it for 5.1 and put it out on DVD, here's what could be done to make it more enjoyable:
1) Throw out everything that Trip Khalaf did to make it sound horrible, including audience overdubs, and take the master multitrack tapes and make it sound like Milton Keynes or the 1995 single b-side re-mix of "Rock In Rio Blues"
2) Make it complete like Wembley, Milton Keynes, etc. - both video and audio wise
3) Throw in the other Rock In Rio concert by Queen that has never been released on video or CD as a bonus
That's what would make it way better, in my opinion

....or just bin the fekker and release earls court...or houston...or hammy 75
They won't release Houston because Jim Beach is way in over his head about the "sound problems" issue (allegedly)
speaking of south american shows on video, im in the middle of a long slow download for the argentina 81 show. how do people like this?
Dark, Trip Khalaf was responsible for their concert sound, not for the sound mix of their audio or video recordings. That's two different worlds. We have no idea how the concert sounded for those who were there.
...although "pretty fucking loud" would be a reasonable guess.
Sorry Philipp, couldn't resist
