I am sick of hearing WWRY and We Are The Champions in all the playgrounds, stadiums and sport events in the world.

Queen is much more than this. These hymns distort Queen's image. I also skip these songs (and God Save The Queen) in their live albums. I'm tired of them.
What are you going to do about that?? Are you going to sing "Somebody to Love" in a football stadium??
I got to try al little more, because I'm an asshole but I'm learning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfTLkUcQ7QY
Be glad that Queen has this famous anthems ....
I`m never tired of listening to "We are the Champions", its one of the most beautiful songs ever written (in Austria it was voted the rock song of the millenium in December 1999).

And they don`t distort anything. I think songs like "We are the Champions" or "Radio Ga Ga" show people how big Queen really was - without these monumental hits, some people wouldn`t know any Queen song at all - so WATC (and WWRY) are more of a benefit than a curse
When I first heard WWRY and WATC I didn't even know they were Queen songs.. in fact, I probably thought WWRY was a 'Five' song.. I agree that WATC is a beautiful song..

i think it is the same with pretty much all bands/singers (the good ones anyway), their main hit single is not really a reflection of what they are really all about. i think that most of queens greatest songs were never released as singles, but they needed singles like we will rock you and we are the champions to make them a successful band. we will rock you and we are the champions are, while good, are no where near their best songs but it is good they they are atleast recognised by the masses for a song, after all i would probably not have started to listen to queen if i were not already familliar with these songs.
I want to break free from your lies you're so self satisfied I don't need you
I enjoyed Champions a lot at the Toyota Cup the other night. Even though for me there are a couple of anthems better than that: Kiss`s Raise Our Glasses, and Abba`s Thank You For The Music, albeit in very different situations. So yes for a football match WATC is much better than, say, Hangman, My Melancholy Blues or My Baby Does Me
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.
Perhaps we should try to introduce new songs that could be sung at football matches. How about 'Save Me' when someone's about to take a penalty ( or 'Misfire' if it's David Beckham )!
To cast aside the fury of the battle. To turn my weary eyes for home.
Funny. I remember We are the Champions being on a Heineken advertisement. Ironic, innit?
...this kettle is boiling over... ...one dump...one turd...two tits...John Deacon... ...one prawn...one shrimp...one clam...one chicken!
at our school we play another one bites the dust when ever we will or loose.

So, can Abba's "The Winner takes it all" replace "We are the champions"?
Yeah i'm little bit sick of hearing WWRY and we are the champions but hey it's okay;)

Mark: But for now, let me say - Without hope or agenda - Just because it's Christmas - And at Christmas you tell the truth - To me, you are perfect - And my wasted heart will love you - Until you look like this

Yeah, so am I, but think of it this way - if not for that particular duo, Queen would have virtually fallen off the map in the under-30 circles of the United States right now. Those songs have the potential to create new fans (first-hand account here). I'm willing to put up with hearing those particular songs ad nauseum if it makes people listen to my favorite band.

Now, I WOULD like to hear those songs in fewer Nissan commercials. But let's not go into that again.
God wants you to send me some money. "Seven spades doubled, vulnerable, making seven? You BITCH."
When my footballclub scores a goal WWRY is being aired in the stadium. There is no feeling that compares to that. :)
