I think more celebrities should follow suit, rather than us poorer people digging into out pockets all the time.

Good on you, Michael.

It's all relative. As long as you can buy new cars, pay for the internet, buy cd's/computergames/DVD's, etc., you've got excess money and can spare a few Pounds, Euro's, Dollars. But that's the communist in me talking. ;)

Ofcourse we all give what we can miss. Wether that's €5,= or like Michael €10 million.

The Canadian government is going to match every dollar donated by our population... I pray it is more than that 10 million!

I'm actually proud that our government is doing that!

My school's student union (which I'm part of, btw.) is raising money through cash donations from students, teachers and staff to donate to the Canadian Red Cross. Our goal is to raise $1500 CDN (roughly $1225 US), which is a lot to us (and that would be if EVERY student and staff donated just $1 each too!).
My good friend Michael donated $5 towards this fundraiser today.

I helped out with getting the fundraising campaign ready; I handwritten names on 66 envelopes and stapled them each afterwards with the letters of appeal (I was also going to type up the letter that went with them, but the person I was helping did that for me) - all this done yesterday!

Unfortunately, having lost my job just recently, I'm unfortunately not able to contribute towards the funds (even though I DID suggest to Student Union that our upcoming Battle Of The Bands competition should raise money towards this cause; they said no to the idea)
