Did Queen ever record a studio version of WWRY fast? I know if they did it's never been released.

No but it has been released is both B & A sides on singles.

There is NO alternative fast version of "We Will Rock You" from the "News Of The World" (July – September 1977 at Sarm West and Wessex Studios) sessions.
The only fast version recorded was in Studio Maida Vale 4, for the BBC Radio One John Peel radio programme.

Giant Spider: The versions you refer to are NOT the BBC studio version - but are directly taken from the "Live Killers" LP.
matthew poulter: The version on Greatest Flix 1 is NOT from the BBC but is again the live version from "Live Killers" (Paris I think).

I think Guitar Hero (nowadays Sir GH or something) has a site where he tries to figure out which recording is from what concert.
