watched the abridged version of wembley86 - on vh1 the other night, and it got me thinking about the full 86 setlist.

i couldn't believe just how many "Live standards" were left out of the so-call "greatest hits" setlist for 86

Killer Queen, Somebody to love, Best friend, Keep yourself alive, liar, spread your wings, don't stop me now

now f they' wanted to make a true greatest hits set surely there would've been room if the 4 r n r numbers, tear it up, friends will be firends and maybe brighton rock all went from the set....if bri still wanted his (tiresome) solo he coulda stuck it into Liar for a change

The only one of those that I really missed was "Somebody to Love." Maybe "Don't Stop Me Now" would have been nice. But the solo was awesome and definately should not have been cut.
Wholeheartedly agreed there. I'm biased though, it's my least favourite tour but thats not saying it wasn't great!!

Didn't like Brians guitar sound. It just seemed to get softer and softer with more effects from 82 onwards. Freddies voice, bless him, wasn't what it used to be and the drum sound was way too 80's loud snare for me. John did ok though.:p

Totally agree, though I'm not so sure - in retrospect - that Freddie would have pulled off a GREAT version of StL.
I didn't miss KQ all that much since he sounded so bored with the song during The Works Tour.
You just can't beat the reasonably priced mosquito repellant OFF.
i suggested removing the "solo" and maybe doing a different one in LIAR because i was sick to death of 12 years worth of the same bloody solo

as for the other tracks STL and DSMN would've been great, KYA, KQ and SYW were great fan favourites

i think most could've taken or left the r n r numbers -w hich is why i said it - these were lazy inclusions because none of us really knew how they should sound live - so they could get away with using them as fodder

Actually, I like the R n R fooling around of them. The Tutti Frutti really rocks...
Keep 'em mowing blades sharp!
