This guy clearly states that Green Days play Nu-metal. Green day however, play something completely different. The latter I also like, the nu-metal band must suck ass, since all nu-metal bands are crap.

Everybody knows they're contemporary punk, also known as nu-punk.
I've liked these guys ever since 'Dookie' came out 10 years ago, but with 'American Idiot' they've really outdone themselves. That has to be one of the best albums of this generation, and I consider it the best album of 2004.

I love American Idiot, but I haven't heard anything else from them. I think I'll probably get another album once I get some money! :)

Even if they`re referred as neo-punk, musically, they couldn`t be more dissimilar. Their only punk aspect is their looks

The only thing somewhat punk might be that their lyrics (some of them) are anti-government, but that's about it.
