Does anybody else agree with me that this is some of the best news of the tour?

"The way we are approaching it, is really to try and cut ourselves down and not give ourselves the safety net. So you won't be seeing a big band with loads of members on stage. You will be seeing us, and mainly four or five of us; there won't be backing singers, there won't be back up this and back up that. It'll be fairly raw. That's what we'd like to do. We think it should be back to the basics like Queen were in the beginning and like Paul was in the beginning."
-Brian

No backing singers to ruin TYMD and it appears, no second drummer. As Spike has already said he is touring with Queen I reckon the it'll just be Brian, Roger, Paul, Spike + (Yet to be named bass player)

Yes, I think it's a great news... even just 4 band members would be more than perfect.

no .. 4 member wouldn't be more than perfect; for a big show and the songs Queen wrote in the eighties, you really need that fifth man!

Now can Paul play more instruments than Freddie (we al know Freds virtuosity on the guitar :P) .. but I think Paul also, like Freddie, most of the time just want to sing instead of singing+piano or guitar.
So one man extra for some guitar and piano back-up is really needed; and Spike is the perfect man for the job!

So 5 members is perfect! Just enough.

4 men would be perfect for the 70's songs (remember Paul can play the piano). If they want to play stuff from the 80's and 90's, I agree Spike will be useful.

As far as I know Paul is competant on both the piano and the guitar, so I am sure we will probably see him playing both!

Yes, that was very important news! In fact, I liked everything they said in that interview (which is to be found on Thomas Zeidler's homepage). It seems there is a lot of enthusiam there, which is most important!

For all you know Spike could be playing the Bass.. he did for Queen during the US Rock And Roll Hall of Fame performance.

But I do recall hearing a rumour of that chick that plays bass for David Bowie getting the spot. so who knows..

To be honest Spike is as much a part of the live Queen line up as Brian & Roger. If they needed him when they had Freddie they sure as hell need him now.

jamie Moses was second Guitar on the awards ceremony and also the Fender gig. Perhaps we may see the Cowboy Hat appear again
