Seth McFarlane the creator of 'Family Guy' is also coming up with a new show called 'American Dad'.

It looks very funny, so 'Family Guy' fans are up for a double treat in 2005.

In my opinion, Family Guy is infinitely better than any other show in its genre. The writing has more wit in any one episode than an entire season of The Simpsons, Futurama, or South Park. The show is also consistently good; there are no bad episodes, really. Try to say that about another show in the genre? The only show to even come close to parallelling the grandeur of Family Guy is the Clerks cartoon, but that was too short lived to evaluate.

Woo hoo!!! Man, I love Family Guy.. It is WAAAY better than The Simpsons...though I found a tiny simalarity in an ep of family guy and an ep in simpsons..

Family Guy is good, but in no way better than the Simpsons, let's wait for Family Guy to be around for more than 10 years and we will compare then, The Simpsons have been around for more than 13 seasons

I have no idea why the cancelled it over here MOTDQ except that they don't actually give a rat's arse about what we like to watch, just about what the advertisers will pay for. That's why so much quality stuff gets buried in the middle of the day or the middle of the night. I bet that if Family Guy came back on it would be stuck at some strange time on C4, or worse on Prime, so that we wouldn't notice until we happened to glance at the TV listings and discover that it was the final.

i kno this might sound crazy but...i have never ever watched that show...

The only reason anyone thinks the Simpsons is better than Family Guy is because half the jokes in Family Guy are way beyond their scope of understanding. In other words, they fly way above their heads.

For what both shows have done through all the seasons they've been aired, 'The Simpsons' is definitely BETTER than 'Family Guy'.

'The Simpsons' set a standard for prime-time animation humor, which before the show started was only limited for younger audiences under 13.
'The Simpsons' took an aim towards older audiences with a black humor that made a complete satire and mock of American society, and pushed things over the edge.
For the first 8, 9, or 10 seasons it seemed like 'The Simpsons' could do no wrong, but there's no doubt that show has started to go downhill since the late 90s.
Some blame it on producer Mike Scully for concentrating too much on bringing celebrity guests, and centering the show too much around Homer. That I have to say was one of the things that made the show get so damn boring.

What no one can deny is that 'The Simpsons' was to animation in the 90s, what The Beatles were to rock n' roll in the 60s.
Sure 'The Simpsons' is not as funny as it used to be and I'm gonna have to agree with those that say that ever since 'Family Guy' came out in 1999 it has been much funnier than 'The Simpsons'.

However it's thanks to the huge influence of 'The Simpsons' why we have shows like 'Family Guy' and 'South Park'.
