John Myung is the best bass player ever. John Deacon and all the other guys mentioned here have played in famous bands but actually they are 10 levels below John Myung.

Don't sell Chris Squire short! But I admit, I need to listen to some more bass players carefully.
As for Paul McCartney... I could play all that stuff myself years ago. As for songwriting, that's another story, of course! But back to bass licks, I'd like to find someone here who can play the scale runs in Dream Theater's A Change Of Seasons.
Deaky is an excellent bass player. Millionaire Waltz is a particular favourite.
Speaking of Millionaire Waltz, I haven't heard one live version of the song where John perfectly nails the bass lines. He always misses notes here and there. That's the sign of a not-so-accomplished musician. Anyone can nail something after 10+ takes in the studio, but real bassists like Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, and John Myung nail them on stage, EVERY TIME!
Roger's drum sound was always a favourite of mine too. Witness the 46664 concert when he's duetting of that wee skinny girl from the Corrs. It's the sound of thunder up against one of those wee toy drumming monkeys. God love her, she tried, but frankly, I was embarrassed for her....
I was embarrased for Roger... he missed half of the rhythm changes.
