if you could erase something from Queen's history(barring the obvious "Freddie's death") what would it be???

would it be hot space??, the awfull 5ive colleberation?? or even the Britney/Pink and the rest collaberation?? the tour of Sin City that is still getting brought up??

Nice topic... I would like to erase John's retirement ;). Or maybe the release of the Freddie Tribute on DVD and replecing it with the FULL tribute INCLUDING the first part.

Apart from that I frankly elieve that they had a pretty unique history and it made them what they are now and I can live with that (only because I got a ticket for a show in April; otherwise this message would be slightly different)

I'd make them erase the Works/Miracle albums, tell them to have a nice long break, and come back and make one blinding album instead. Sorry but those two albums just sound like a band treading water to me. They needed to get off the album/tour treadmill for a while.

I would erase everything after 1999 (their awful collaborations with Five, Britney, Robbie and this shitty musical - I like good musicals but this is only downright silly). Also the Made in Heaven films were incredibly lame (At least there were two "real" music videos for MIH and a Winters Tale.

And I would never erase an album or a concert. I think they were right to go to South Africa. And why erase "Hot Space"? Its not a weak album!

I can`t believe it! You would erase the two greatest songs of Queen in the 80s. The Works was their most successful album in the UK ever.
Be glad that we have The Works and The Miracle. But fans like you are only satisfied if Queen had stuck in a 70s time-warp musicwise.

I agree!!!!, though Made In Heaven was probably at least a decent attempt to put Freddie`s last vocal performances on an album.

I actually like a lot of the 80's (and 90's) stuff. But what you get from Hot Space onwards is a lot of filler. There was very little filler in the 70's, albums were strong from start to finish.
There are tracks that I like on both The Works and The Miracle, I just feel that these two albums have far more filler than any of the others. Lose the filler, pack the strong tracks onto one album, call it 'The Miracle Works' and I'd be a happy bunny.

Anything after MIH doesn't qualify FOR ME as Queen, so It's not even in the equation.

If you would erase everything from Queen after 1982 you would erase half of their career - think about it. People who only like their 70s work are just narrow-minded and don`t understand that is was their diversity in musical styles that made them the great band they were.

And without the great "The Works"-album Queen would have been finished by 1984. It was a huge comeback for them and Radio Ga Ga just showed everyone the power of Queen. If you erase all that they would have been a 70s band like Deep Purple who would have been largely forgotten by the mid-80s. And Innuendo would never have been produced. Maybe you prefer todays shit over great 80s rock and pop - but your comment is just dumb. Without their 80s work Queen would not be seen as megastars (and LiveAid was their most appreciated performance ever as a band!!).
