I wonder if Paul Rodgers has a quick escape route planned for if everyone starts shouting "Freddie" and won't shut up? I just hope there will be enough free/bad company fans to make the balance.

The fact that people even contemplate that such a thing could happen is sad, oh so sad.
AMEN!!

Any one who would start such a chant needs to flash forward to 2005- Freddie is dead. If they are expecting freddie then they should not have punked out 50 quid for a ticket. It also would be extremely rude and disrespectful to PR let alone Brian and Roger- who obviously have great respect for PR and feel that he can do their music with dignity, add new life into it, etc. that they are even doing this tour. I can't wait for these concerts and if anyone freddie chants around me- ..well you might get your foot stompted on or something. :-) I want to enjoy the show not listen to your pointless chants.

It reminds me of a line from The Simpsons -
'Why would they come to our concert to boo us?'

I can't imagine that everybody is going to chant "Freddie". I just the-ink there will be a trmodous general roar and clapping when they appear on stage.
If they start with a rock song then everybody will be too busy head-banging to think about chanting Freddie.

DP's Highway Star as intro song was VERY boring - the band just came to the stage, took their instruments and started playing. Absolutely NO surprise.
Queen have always had great intros. I want some thunderbolts and lightnings, very very frightening me! :) Smoke and darkness, then some Freddie tape intro + Brian's live (and LOUD!) guitar riffs and the show can begin.

Whatever they pick, I'm sure it will be great. Every intro Queen used to a show throughout their career was incredibly effective (with the possible exception of Jailhouse Rock, in my opinion). Nonetheless, I'm sure they will not disappoint this time around, either.
I must say, I like the It's A Beautiful Day intro idea.

Unfortunately I think that Made In Heaven will be ignored... :( They will probably start with a brand new intro + TYMD (i.e. FM Tribute) or maybe another heavy classic such as a Now I´m Here... just my 2 cents.

Very sad, and very disrespectful. How about some "BRIAN , ROGER or PAUL" chants. Paul knows how to handle himself and knows what to expect from "virgin" Queen live fans. It's a shame some fans don't!!

I think since it's a rocker that suits Paul, and is a great statement song, they should open with Now I'm Here.

Why do so many of you believe they are going to start with a Freddie tape intro?? To my mind it's out of the question. It would be pretty stupid to do that. They won't fall back on him. This is not a Freddie memorial tour, they want to be regarded as something new.

If they use taped intro, Breakthru would be a perfect choise. A new life is born, indeed.
But then again, they'll probably begin with a true rocker. TYMD!

i was also thinking i want it all may fit in well if they use the us/extended version where there is a guitar solo from the begining?

Trying to figure out the opener is quite hard. Some of the obvious choices have been named already. I hope O.V. is not in the set. or anything from Magic other than WWTLF. Maybe opening w/ a Bad Co. song would be good. When I was drumming w/ my band back in the early '90's we used to open w/ Can't Get Enough. It always went down a storm! Actually a good old rocker would be cool as well. Less pressure on everyone. Especially Brian & Roger. It will never happen but My Generation would be thunderous. Also, I remember going to the Page & Plant shows in '95. While tailgating in the parking lot the topic all around was what will the opener be? People guess RnR, Good Times Bad Times, thinking back I can't even remember what else was guessed. But when they hit the stage and opened w/ The Wanton Song, jaws hit the floor all over the arena. No one & I mean no one saw that coming. It was never played live by Zep. It was awesome!! So my point is, if they strive to be a little original and not rehash openers from 19 or more year ago it could be quite amazing. I hope we are all wrong & the flat out floor us w/ something no one ever thought of them doing.

They might want to throw Headlong in there too...that's one another one they never got to play live....
Actually I think it would be cool if they'd start with a short slow version of The Show Must Go On (maybe on tape, and with some thunder) since everyone thought there would never be another Queen show (yes I know some people don't think it's Queen), THEN abruptly cut it off and start Tie Your Mother Down at full blast!
