Man I am just listening to Queen In Nuce and it's just struck me how good Smile actually were. Step On Me and April Lady are really good songs. What did Tim Staffell do musically after Smile?
humpy bong....then.................nothinguntil recently then a Smile one-off reunion guest appearance
go deo na hÉireann The best QZ epoch: BG17-00 (Before Gerry 1996-2013)
... He made the worst career move in his life!
Does anyone if there any Smile CDs? I've never heard them, but I really want to listen to them. If anyone can find any mp3s of their songs (don't know if you can, but worth a try), then email it/them to me at [email protected]

Smile did have a couple of good songs my favorites are....

April Lady
Step On Me
Earth

They're not too bad at all. I'm still glad they split up though otherwise there would be no Queen?
I like Smile, especially April Lady and Step On Me.
Resistance is futile. You are now an orb.
Smile was excellent, I'm almost sad it didn't go anywhere, but then we wouldn't have Queen would we? I love Tim Staffel's voice on step on me... I was impressed.

Smile was good. I'd have to say my favourite song is Earth. On that note, I seriously think we should be grateful for Tim leaving Smile because that gave Freddie the chance to form Queen. SO THANK YOU MR STAFFELL!

loads of traces of queen in those old smile tracks really class! tim staffell got bored with smile and decided too pursue his humpy bong! (then again freddie did go to nearly all there gigs and tell him how to sing!)good move tim!

It's worth buying Queen In Nuce on CD, Brian_may_wannabe, I dunno about mp3s, but you can buy the cd really cheap.
I never heard them...but if Brian and Roger were part of it, it had to be a good band!!!
Friends Will Be Friends; Life without friends is like Rock n' Roll without Queen.

They should be online somewhere else I can send them to you... what is your e-mail address?

Cheers, the_hero. My email is [email protected]. If you can send it/them to me, I really appreciate it because I really want to listen to them.

I just ordered the Humpy Bong 45 -- the only thing they ever recorded -- and I'll post up the mp3s on the site for my Queen-dedicated books. There's some good links that I picked up in my research:

I started a Humpy Bong thread that no one picked up on; perhaps that title is too obscure.

He did other recordings after Humpy Bong, which I did not know.
