What do you think of it?

I think the best you can say about it is that it needs a song by a glam rock band to explain what the bloody hell is going on.

It's very hard to see what's going on in there if you don't read anything about it. freddie is helpful in pointing out the essential... :D

lol

I think youve never seen nothing like it, no never in your life.
Chom own mudder fukker.
I was reading about the artist once, and it said that after spending like a week smoking a water pipe somewhere in the Middle East, he went crazy and killed his father. Then he painted TFFMS in an insane asylum.

It was worded a bit better though.
Kay Adams Corleone- The ultimate desperate housewife
and he also painted his father as one of the figures on the TFFMS-painting. (His father was an apothecary man)

(apols for this - but) Bollocks!!! - Freddie didn't interpret the painting - it was already identified who was who before he wrote the song...Freddie merely worked in into verse - just like he did for the snatched element of the "pied piper" for My fairy King
it didn't need anything to make it any more famous than it already is - an album track that the vast majority of non-queen fans don't even know about would hardly publicise it widely would it? ...whereas the painting has been seen by millions - google Richard Dadd and see just how many hits you get - the painting is more famous than the album track - and the painting inspired FM to write a brilliant song
why don't you read up on Richard Dadd - and then you might find out what his paintings were about - he specialised in "fairy" paintings - he was a tortured complex and disturbed individual who killed his own father - and one look at his other stuff would help you understand just how good THAT painting is
you gotta remember that the detail in it is incredible - for a painting so small - and even the blades of grass etc in front of and behind each character

It's a nice painting, but nothing really special. It's a very typical British Romantic (and I'm referring to the name of the style!!!) painting.

the good thing is that u can use it when u wanna mention freddie. :D

Richard Dadd is indeed a very interesting personality. Think I'm gonna further my study about him. :D

Saw another one of his paintings at the Royal Academy in 2003.

Absolutely amazing, with the detail.

Discussing with someone else there we thought

a) The level of detail must be because he was mad.

b) He could afford to spend 4 years on it because he was in a mental hospital and didn't need to earn a living. He gave the painting to his doctor...

Some good images of his painting on the internet.
