Wow! I have to say, I think JPJ's playing technique would change the sound of 'Queen' quite radically. He hasn't got the groovy, funky thing John D could do so well. But his sound is very thick and heavy, which would probably fit very well to the new sound 'Queen' will have, when they go back to bas(s)ics with Paul Rodgers!
I am a very big Zeppelin freak and JPJ joining, to me, would be a real kick! If it's him, I'd be very content!

Apart from that: I don't think the special anouncement has something to do with the new tour. I'm sure, for anything related to the upcoming tour, they would never use an image of Freddie!

What you say, Brian_Mays_Wig, is not realy true! He still does a lot of session work and production work for other artists. Besides that, he had two solo-albums out the last couple of years and he has done quite some extended touring. (Saw him in Holland about... hmmm, what was it... 2 years ago??

I have to say- if that was true that would be FANTASTIC!!! The line-up May - Taylor - Rodgers - Jones would be a really amazing thing to witness...

I think theres more chance of seeing Deacy with them than JPJ. Would be nice though.

John Paul Jones did a tour with the Mutual Admiration Society last summer in the States.

If you look at the timeline, there's something below June/Jul/Aug that states "possible stadium date".

I'm sure that this is what teh announcement will be, however, if you look at the picture here:

The text on there says "Watch this space..........for special announcement" - now, to my mind, there should be an "a" between "for" and "special" for it to be grammatically correct, which leads me to thinking that this is something created by sonmeone that doesn't have the best command of written English for an official announcement.

By extension, I have a suspicion that this is something to do with something happening in Europe.
