Swiss Army knives had the famous red scales because if they were dropped in snow, it would be easier to spot them.
BTW, the Swiss Army does not use the familiar red knives. They use the ones with aluminum scales.

P.S I hate Arkansas. If they spell it Ark-an-sas it deserves to be pronounced that way. Damn French.
