Just had a look at Queen's front page, it seems to say that rare live and Budapest along with others will be released on DVD. Does anyone have any more info on this ?

nope... it says they are still available on video to buy.

Probably the "many more on DVD" which caused the confusion.

I hope it is released on DVD ! It's a great concert - one of their best ! And also some very cool documentaries :)
That time will come, 1 day youll see, when we can all be friends

Actually there's a lot of pirate DVDs with stuff from all official Queen's VHS including Rare Live, Magic Years etc. I don't think QP Ltd could add something new to Live in Budapest video, so it'd the similar to VHS release, IMO.

Rare Live, there's 12 quid I'll never see again.

What a pile of shite.

Rare Live is definitely one of the worst if not the worst Video they've released. It's shite. Rock In Rio isn't much better either. Wish they'd release another full concert of Works 84 tour. This tour was awesome.
We all of us deeply apologise for this god forsaken shit heap of a building...but we will make it rock. Brian May Wembley Pavilion 11.05.05.

Good shout about Rock In Rio as well, aye!

They're going backwards on releases aren't they? First Wembley, now Milton Keynes, it'll be Hammersmith next, then Earls Court, then the Rainbow, and then they might think about Budapest!

Shame, cos it's a good show!

I watched this show on my video for the very first time 1 month ago, and i noticed that its play speed (pitch) is 15% higher than the normal (forgive me for my bad english) and boys seemed to move embarrassing faster . I didn't like this at all :(

What do u think?

If you mean Budapest, and you've watched it on a PAL release, it's because the concert was originally filmed on 35mm film at 24 frames per second. To make a long story short, they usually speed up 24fps releases for PAL releases (NTSC releases use a technique called "3/2 pull down" to transfer film to NTSC format).

You'd THINK that with today's technology, they'd at least go re-transfer Budapest onto digital medium, digitally re-encode the video portion to PAL, and then put it on a VHS re-release (if it's possible)

Thx for the information :)

Far too true! I took it back, said it was faulty and exchanged it for a propellorheads album! However, One of my mates and I are currently putting together our own 'Queen on Screen' DVD, made up of about four hours of live broadcasts and snippets of random gubbins, which will hopefully be infinitely better than the 'official' piece of shite.

As for Budapest - Love it, especially when John is walking along by the river and scares the little girl away. Bless him!
